Hello, allow me to quote what is written on the homepage of our bugs tracker:

Also we do not support using pirated copies of games, which includes copies downloaded from so-called abandonware websites. See https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php?title=Copyright_FAQ for more details.

Of course it is none of our business where you folks get the games, but in order to protect the dev team and ourselves from even the thought of legal trouble, we don't want anything to do with it: we don't offer support for pirated copies of games.

Out of curiosity though, since this is happening more and more as time goes by: did you not notice the multiple warnings about this on both this tracker and the main website, or is there any other reason associated with it?

I have a legal copy of that game. Got it as a birthday present when I was 14 :-)

I linked the Internet Archive website for convenience (I didn't even link the actual game).
But I just removed the link from the ticket and replaced it with a link to eBay, where you can legally but used copies of that game.

I hope under that circumstances it's OK that I reopned the ticket?

I fully understand that.
(I already thought of something like that, so I just linked the Internet Archive websites start page and not the actual game)

No, I didn't saw that warnings. Would it be possible to place a warning when creating a new ticket in TRAC!?

As far as I know, support for Director 5 games is not implemented yet.
Our last news item (back in January) mentions Director 3 and 4 progress.
https://www.scummvm.org/news/20230124/

I believe the goal is to eventually implement support for Director 5 and 6, but there's no ETA for that, and of course it depends on the spare time, availability and enthusiasm of the developers working on it.

Thanks for the reply :-)
I'll just wait.
And thanks for everybody's enthusiasm!

For the moment I can play the game using a Windows 98 VM, or using a patched Wine version. (see Wine link)
