Description
In Blackwell Unbound (blackwell2
), the game crashes during the final encounter with The Countess.
Reproduction Steps
- Load the attached save
- Click on the Countess
Joey will start talking to the Countess, who will respond with the line
No! The... connection is gone! I cannot save you.
Then ScummVM crashes. There is unfortunately nothing in the scummvm.log
file to indicate what went wrong.

- ScummVM 2.8.0git 2023-05-31, Windows x64
- Blackwell Unbound, Steam release

Oops, sorry, I uploaded the wrong save. I'm attaching the correct one.
I'm not sure what you mean about this not being a crash; ScummVM unexpectedly quits when this point is reached.

Confirmed, it is now fixed in daily 2023-06-02.

The save is from blackwell1, anyway I can confirm the issue.
It's not a crash but a failed assert when accessing the character ViewLoop vector.
I have a hunch that this could happen in upstream too, but I haven't checked yet
