ULTIMA6: Torches do not illuminate area

Casting Light or Great Light will illuminate an area about the Avatar.

However, readying a torch does not.

Thankfully, there is a workaround. Light a torch, then enable cheats and increase the minimum brightness to 20 or 40. Then when the torch goes out, decrease the minimum brightness again.

I am unable to reproduce this. Tested using various graphics and lighting settings with master 0c91983ee971fdbce37a3899cc0152e6129df20c and ScummVM 2.7.0 (Apr 16 2023 00:00:00) on Fedora Linux 37 Workstation x86_64; GPU: Intel HD Graphics 610.
Test procedure used:

  1. Start a new game
  2. Grab the torches from the Avatars room SW of the throne room
  3. Enable cheats if necessary
  4. Hold ALT and 214 on the numpad or number row to display the gargish teleport prompt
  5. Type 81 RETURN 13 RETURN 1 RETURN to teleport into dungeon Wrong
  6. The light level should be low
  7. Press TAB, navigate to a torch using the cursor keys and press RETURN to ready it
  8. Press u then TAB and navigate to the readied torch. Press RETURN to light it
  9. The light level should have increased

Could you test using these steps and/or provide a way to replicate the bug?

Just tested with latest build...I am unable to replicate issue. Looks like this issue has been fixed, you may close this ticket.
