So I was talking with the first guard you see with the beheading stuff, giving some stupid answers to anger him, right after the last dialog with him, the game crashed:

Quick triage note - I gave it a quick run and confirmed that it doesn't happen *every* time at least - I was able to complete this conversation no problem. Need to investigate and try to understand why it crashed.

After a bit more playing I was able to reproduce the crash - it happens if autosave is triggered during this conversation, and the fix was pretty easy. I've pushed a change that should fix it and ported to the stable branch so it will be in the next stable release.
