ScummVM: v2.6.0
Game: Secret of Monkey Island EGA
This defect is most noticeable in the "Idol of Many Hands" sequence in the Governor's Mansion. (Save attached for convenience.)
No sound effects are heard at all while MT-32 Emulation is happening.

Thank you for a solution and quick response! I don't know if the original EGA version only has AdLib SFX, nor if the original interpreter played MT-32 music with sound effects. I'll see if I can do some research.

Thanks for the report. It seems that the game only finds Adlib sound effects here and is not able to play them with the MT-32. In ScummVM, if you enable the
Mixed AdLiB/MIDI
checkbox in the launcher MIDI tab, you will have these sfx.Do you happen to know if the original interpreter is supposed to play MT-32 sound effects? I just gave it a quick testing in the dreamm emulator and I did not get any door opening or closing sounds. But that's as far as my testing went...
If there are really just the AdLib sound effects for MI1 EGA we might consider always enabling the
Mixed AdLiB/MIDI
mode for this game when MT-32 sound is selected.
