@marus70: To be clear, is this a version of Sanitarium from GOG which has had some user patch applied for Italian language or is this version as per download from GOG?

To state this another way, did you apply a patch to the datafiles or does GOG apply a patch for Italian language?

If this is a user patch, then please provide a link for this...

You are right, sorry.
It's an user patch provided by an italian community for the GOG version of the game, it translate game language so it is applied to datafiles.
