COMI: Guybrush vanishes, can't reach BBQ Pit

Description
On Blood Island, I can't get past the sign/stage on the porch of Goodsoup's Hotel. Guywood just disappears.
In 5.1, he used to get really big at that point, but would shrick back down and I could walk past toward the BBQ pit.
In 5.5 he vanishes and I can't get past .. so I can't get what I need to proceed in the game!

Still pending response by bug submitter (and BTw, there is no ScummVM 5.1 nor 5.5 - it is 0.5.1 and 0.5.5)
Isn't this the same as bug #809942 - Guybrush disappears before Hotel on Blood Island.? Try the Ctrl-G (really fast) option while walking towards the pit and see if you don't get some panning first and then Guybrush reappears after passing the bulletin board. It worked for me sometime back in 0.5.4.
