#13109 closed defect (fixed)

ASYLUM: Fountain not triggered

Reported by: laenion Owned by: alxpnv
Priority: normal Component: Engine: Asylum
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Sanitarium

Description

I'm not entirely sure whether this is a bug or a feature, but in Chapter 3 I tried all the other fountains in the water pressure puzzle before I activated the central one. This caused the pipe above the sailor to break.

Now when activating the central fountain it doesn't trigger anything - the fountain just stays empty. But I also can't interact with the control panel any more.

Is this a dead end, or am I missing something? I'm attaching the corresponding savegame.

If it is of any help, in the linked (blind) playthrough, the player tries the first three output pipes in order (the first one is the one that breaks the pipe over the sailor) and the game still allows her to continue --the pipe stays broken, but less water comes out when the flow is redirected to another output pipe.

She plays an English version of the game (no ScummVM).

Edit: Here's another blind playthrough, where the player tries every other output pipe first, before they try the correct (third) one:

English version again. The game is not stuck.

The fourth output pipe controls a small fountain(?) near the bottom of the asylum area, it's supposed to blow the manhole cover up -- but I am not seeing that manhole cover in your save game. Maybe that's what glitched?
