I'm trying with the Brazilian version in Linux and I get a similar error. My distro is SuSE 9.0 and the version that I'm trying is 0.5.4 At this moment I'm compiling the CVS version and in o6_kernelSetFunctions I change (on default case) the error() functions to warning() ones.

Patch #838309 should fix at least this opcode. There appeared to be two others opcode used in kernelGetFunctions, so these are included.
But I am not sure that Brazillian version does not include any other extensions. It would be good to see all scripts from that version as well.
This opcode is introduced apparently because Spanish version include English voices, so it forces subtitles to be on.

Just checked with the Brazilian FT owner. Patch works for him and this FT version does not introduce any new opcodes except those three implemented in the patch.
So the bug request may be closed.

no, you shouldn't close it
the bug keeps happenning to me with the last CVS build (7 november)

It will take about 24 hours before the patch appears in daily builds / anonymous CVS.

First thing, please try this with a more current version of ScummVM, yours is several weeks old (i.e. heavily outdated :-)
Secondly, since I can't reproduce the problem with my english FT version, would you please dump the scrtip-1 and attach it here? To do so, you just have to create a directory called "dumps" in the same directory as ScummVM. Then start scummvm with the -u option. E.g. if you are using Unix, you can do this:
mkdir dumps ./scummvm -u ft
