I've pushed a fix for this to master:

If building goes ok, I'll cherry-pick it for 2.5.1 also.

I can reproduce this on 2.5.0 and a local build of 2.6.0git on Windows 10.
This is an issue also for the English speech audio as far as I can tell. Probably for the other localizations too.
It does not happen in ScummVm 2.2.0 so it must be some regression.
