    99When you open Ultima8, scummvm should throw an error when it's trying to load the monsters file.  If it's not, then the problem is that the file is not getting loaded at all, which would probably explain the problem.

     11Could you also check whether you have an `extrapath` defined in your scummvm ini file? Some notes on that are here:

     14The dat file needs to be in that search list somewhere.

    1116For reference, I'm using MacOS so there could easily be something wrong with the loading code that only happens on Windows.
