Description
ScummVM 2.3.0git9334-gd9f4b17196 (Oct 12 2020 11:47:28)
Random text in "The Longest Journey" everywhere (in game menus, subtitles etc.) is replaced with ...
This bug must have been introduced before merging of ResidualVM as the same visual bug happens with recent (a few weeks ago) ResidualVM builds, but didn't happen on older builds, unfortunately I don't know when exactly that bug was introduced.
It happens independently of the OS used (I've checked on Windows and Linux) so it seems to be a general bug. Also other users reported the same problem on the forums.
It also seems the larger the window is the more text gets replaced by the dots.
Some screenshots are here:

This happens both in the menu, in game in the diary etc, basically everywhere where text is show in the game.
I had to report this as ResidualVM as engine "Stark" is not yet available in the bug tracker, so once that's merged please move this bug to the correct engine.

It's fixed by commit eef527e22706a12be42eaeb1d17112753879de59
Same problem with both ResidualVM and ScummVM. Only occurs in fullscreen mode, or windowed mode after increasing the size of the display. Changing the font or its size in gui.ini partially solves the problem, but some "..." remain.
