Description

When trying to run Arthur's Birthday game from Living Books, I'm getting the following error message (original message was in Spanish):

It seems that the game located at 'E:\living_books\LivingBooks\BIRTHDAY\'
uses an unknown version of Mohawk engine.

Please send the following information to the ScummVM team at https://bugs.scummvm.org,
together with the game's name, version, language etc...

Available games: arthurbday

  {"BIRTHDAY.512", 0, "fd0c7b73b9f40400e145efd06240b84b", 2455},

I'm running ScummVM 2.0.0 (Dec 2017) on Windows 10 64-bit.
The game is ARTHUR'S BIRTHDAY from Living Books, version 1.0
The game contains both English and spanish languages.

The error happens when trying to add the game to ScummVM, so basically it cannot be played at all

Owner: set to digitall
Resolution: fixed
Status: newpending

Detection entry added to Mohawk engine as commit 66153aa28ac26114bd051182f621799850d90a6f.

This will be included in the next nightly build.

@Maikel-Nait: Please download and test with the next daily build from here:
https://www.scummvm.org/downloads/#daily

Will set this to pending update on whether this is fixed.

Sorry for the delay, I didn't get any notification about changes in the ticket.
Nevertheless, it is not working yet.

Maikel-Nait: Sorry... Slightly confused. The detection entry seems to have changed value for BIRTHDAY.512 as if this is not the same version or your first report was a corrupted CD dump.

Can I suggest you recopy your source files from the CD and post a list of the file MD5sums i.e. not limited to 5000 bytes, but using say md5deep:

Unfortunately I don't own the original CD... just got the game files a loooong time ago and used to play it with a Win 3.1 VM emulation...

Anyway, if I can come up with MD5 checksums I will let you know ...

I am sorry. We do not support versions unless you own a copy of the original game.
Consider: https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Copyright_FAQ

Apart from the issues noted in that, we get invalid bugs due to datafiles which are corrupted or have been patched in unknown ways.

Closing.
