GUI: Ability to resize window

Description

Hello ScummVM team,

Would it be possible to add the ability to resite the starting window, the one we get after typing "scummvm" on the commandline?

I assume that perhaps we can not resize it because the games have a certain fixed resolution; however had, my suggestion here is not necessarily limited to maximize the whole window and redefine font size or image size - I really mean it just in the sense of being able to have a maximized window, like any other window on my linux machine.

So the size could be the same, but around the main widget, black background would be added as padding. That would work too.

My primary concern is that the window is smaller than other windows, and the way how I re-arrange my widgets on my desktop is quite peculiar, so I'd love to have all windows maximized, all of the time; right now I re-arrange via scummvm being on the top left area, but it is still not ideal for me.

Anyway if this is not worth the implementation, please do happen to feel free to close this issue request at any moment in time. scummvm is awesome - I hope you can expand the scope of the project too. The starting widget alone is pretty cool to load ANY game really. :D

"resite" means "resize" - not sure how to edit trac tickets; I am so used to github issues ...

I am not sure I understand your request. You mean that you want the ability to manually resize the window, for example using the maximise button in the window title bar, or by grabbing a border with the mouse? If that is the case that should already be possible. Depending where e you got ScummVM, or how you compiled it, it may differ slightly though.

If compiled with the SDL 2 library, which is the default now, the window is resizable whatever graphics mode is used.
If compiled with the older SDL 1.2 library the window is only resizeable when using the OpenGL graphics mode. The graphics mode can be selected in the Graphics tab in the ScummVM Options dialog.

Closing this for now as we lack more input, please feel free to reopen if you still feel this is an issue and criezy's comment/explanation wasn't satisfactory.
